Learn & Grow Together

Workshops & School Cooperative

In partnership with local schools, we offer hands-on educational programs that empower students and community members with practical skills in sustainable living, traditional crafts, and ecological awareness.

About the School Cooperative

Our School Cooperative is a community service partnership with local high schools, designed to give young people meaningful, real-world learning experiences outside the traditional classroom. Students earn community service hours while gaining practical skills they can carry for a lifetime — from building an Earthship greenhouse to preserving a harvest.

The program is rooted in the belief that reconnecting with the land, learning from one another, and working with our hands are powerful paths to personal growth and community resilience. Adults and community members are welcome to participate in many of our workshops as well.

Youth Sustainability Program

In partnership with a local high school, this hands-on community service program invites students to design and build an Earthship greenhouse. Participants gain real-world experience in permaculture, sustainable building techniques — including stone masonry, repurposed-lumber carpentry, and earthbag construction — while cultivating a deeper connection to the land and its resources. The program also features home economics classes where students learn practical life skills such as sewing, soap-making, candle-making, beekeeping, canning, and more.
